What is Refresh From Stress: 30 Day Inspiration?

Refresh From Stress: 30-Day Inspiration is an exciting opportunity for Emory University and Emory Healthcare faculty and staff to engage in 30 simple steps to enhance emotional health.  Participants will have daily activities during the month of November to complete that are focused on self-care, mindfulness, social connections, gratitude, resilience and other inspirations to help you refresh from stress.

When is Refresh From Stress: 30 Day Inspiration?

RFS will be held during the month of November (November 1 -30, 2016)

Who can participate?

All Emory Healthcare and Emory University faculty, staff, and retirees (except students and non-paid positions) are eligible to participate.

When and how do I sign-up for Refresh From Stress?

Login to www.fsap.emory.edu/refreshfromstress October 10-28 to register.

What if I miss the October 28 deadline for registration?

There is a late registration period from Oct 29 - Nov 1.  If you do not register by November 1, you will not be able to register and will not be eligible for prizes.  However, you may still participate informally by visiting the FSAP website and downloading the activity calendar.

How does it work? What happens after I sign-up?

WELCOME EMAIL: When you register, you will receive a confirmation/welcome email with an overview and the calendar of daily activities.  The day before the November 1 kickoff, the calendar will “go live” and you will be able to view more details for each activity, including educational information/tips/videos, etc., associated with the activities.

REFRESH BAG: If you register by October 28, you will receive a free “Refresh Bag” filled with a journal and other goodies to help you keep track of your inspirations and experiences over the 30-day period. Refresh Bags will be distributed on October 31 and November 1 (specific details to come).

WEEKLY EMAILS: Each week, you will receive an email with information about that week’s inspiration and daily activities to complete.

CONFIRM ACTIVITIES 1: On November 16, you will receive an email asking you to confirm which activities you completed between November 1 -15.   Participants who complete at least 13 of the 15 activities during the first two weeks will be eligible for a drawing for a prize.

CONFIRM ACTIVITIES 2: On Dec 1, you will receive an email asking you to confirm which activities you completed between November 16 -30.  Participants who complete at least 26 of the 30 activities between Nov 1-30 will be eligible for a drawing for a prize. Participants who complete all 30 activities will be eligible for the grand prize.

Do I have to complete each activity on the actual day listed in the calendar?

No. Flexibility is important for emotional health. You may complete Days 1 -15 anytime during that period (November 1-15). You may complete Days 16-30 anytime during that period (November 16-30).

What incentives/prizes are being offered and how can I win?

All participants who register by October 28, 2016 will receive an FSAP "Refresh Bag,” that includes a journal and other goodies, while supplies last.

What are the benefits of participating in Refresh from Stress?

Emory FSAP designed Refresh from Stress as an organized, fun, meaningful, effective and practical opportunity for Emory employees to inspire themselves and each other to improve well-being.  Benefits may include: increased self-awareness, confidence, energy, concentration, motivation, resilience and gratitude; improved work performance, relationships and physical health; and overall enhanced emotional health. During the 30 days of Refresh from Stress, we hope participants will identify the activities that are the most helpful to them, so they may continue to use these healthy practices to “refresh and inspire” for months and years to come.

I’m very busy. How much time will I need to devote to RFS?

Refresh from Stress provides opportunities to take short periods of time to focus on your well-being.  Most of the daily activities can be completed in 5 to 15 minutes.

What if I sign-up and complete some of the activities, but not all of them?

You may complete as many or as few of the activities as you would like.  Even if you don’t complete enough activities to be entered into the drawing for prizes, you can still enjoy the activities and the positive experiences that come from what you’ve chosen to do.

If I don’t complete enough activities to be entered into the drawings for a prize, can I still be eligible for a prize?

If you do not achieve the minimum number of activities required for a prize and wish to be included in the drawing, please mail a 4” x 6”postcard, containing your name, email address and telephone number to Faculty Staff Assistance Program, 1762 Clifton Rd, NE, Suite 1100, Atlanta, GA, 30322.

What if I decide not to sign-up?

Participation is voluntary. There are no penalties for not participating in Refresh from Stress.

Once I register, what type of data is seen by Emory and who sees information about my participation? How does Emory FSAP protect my personal information?

Only the coordinators of Refresh from Stress and select members of Emory Information Technology will have access to the names of participants. These individuals will keep your name and participation confidential.  If you receive a prize, you will be asked to provide permission in order to share your name when winners are announced.

My question is not on this list. How can I get it answered?
